We all showed up by 7:30. Some had arrived a bit earlier. The show was originally advertised to start at 7pm but then was actually supposed to start at 8pm but by the time we showed up, had apparently been changed to start at 9pm. We sat around for a while and our friend RP hooked us up with about half of his worldly possessions to give away at our merch table. We had a lot of our people there so it was really cool to just hang out. Kinda like a private party. The Blameshifters went on at 9pm and pretty sweet. Their music sounded like a blend of NOFX and Propagandhi with the “pop” turned up about 20 degrees. The lyrics were sung by Fat Mike, who was apparently wearing some sort of disguise that made him look like a skinny guitarist. There was some confusion about set times, but after the Blameshifters had finished we we’re going on (whoops, guess nobody told us). We set up our gear and tried to remember what we were supposed to do. It had been one day less than a year since we had played a show together so it was kinda crazy. Still, once we got started it was great. We got goofy and played like crazy. The kids their were stoked and sang along. We took two breaks and not for very long: Will said he had never had to work that hard at a show in his life. On my end, I only had my guitar cut out once! (Not counting when I hit Will’s cymbal with my headstock and had to retune.) It was a really good show to come back with, even though a lot of people apparently had to bail because of the rain. It was still cool thought. Kids were really stoked on Will, so our first show with him can certainly be considered a success. We can’t wait for the next one.
