SAD, SAD NEWS (10/19/03)
A lot of you may not have heard, but last Sunday, Sam Reeves, a local Punk Rock kid, got shot. Sam was only 15 years old. He was celebrating his friends birthday at a surprise party in Oxnard. He had nothing to do with the violence, and he was not a gang member. He played drums for 2 local bands, and his favorite band was The Missing 23rd. SAM WAS ONE OF US. There is a benefit show in the works, and a memorial fund set up. If anyone can help, and donate, every dollar counts. Half of the fund will go to Sam's family, to help with burial costs, and the other half will go to local anti-violence organizations.
Please visit his memorial website at: http://www.samreevesmemorial.com/Sam_Reeves.html
Please, take the time to think about this. Nobody, especially a 15 year old kid deserves to die. Like I said before, SAM WAS ONE OF US.
LOVE YOUR FRIENDS, THEY MAY NOT BE HERE TOMORROW.
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TOUR! (3/27 - 3/30)
Hey everyone! Last night at 3am we got home from San Francisco! We played 3 shows in 4 days and we had a blast! Our first show wasn't at all in Northern California...It was in Downey on Thursday night at the Anarchy Library. It wasn't much of a library, unless you count the labels of beer bottles as books. It ended up being a bar with a bunch of punk rock posters on the walls and a bunch of locals. We had a good time...but there were no signs of the other bands!! That night we went home and the next day we left to Sacramento...at 3pm! We were supposed to play at 9:30, and we just pulled up to the place at like 9:35, 9:40. It ended up being fine, cuz we played at 10:30. There was 1 other band that night, and they were really eff-ing cool. UNDERCLASS...Check them out! That night we drove to San Francisco and slept in our friend Dana's living room. Saturday we didn't have a show, and Sat. night we slept in a fort made of sheets. Sunday we played at the Pound in SF. It was really really fun, and The Scarves rocked the house! Thanks to Yarone and Melissa for taking pictures and filming us on Friday, Jimmy and Ryan for filming on Sunday, and anyone who showed up, took a demo, and had a good time!
WE FINALLY FINISHED OUR DEMO (12/02)
After recording and recording a couple different times, we finally finished our demo. Though the quality of the recording isn't as well as we hoped it would be, it is definitely a good reflection of what we sound like. Download the songs and tell us what you think...sorry bout the bad mix.
I GOT BORED ON 9/11/02 SO I WROTE THIS
During the last year there have been many deaths associated with the 9/11/01 attacks, most of them were Arabs, some were American soldiers. The energy that the deaths of so many people on that day created have been channeled toward war and revenge, instead of peace and love. People think that bombing Afghanistan will rid the world of things like hate, and terrorists. In actuality, the bombings are creating more hate, and more reasons for terrorists to attack. The USA has troops everywhere, ready to die for their country. What are they dying for? PEACE?? LIBERTY?? FREEDOM?? Nope, they're dying so that our ass backward country will favor our dumb ass president in the next election. THINK ABOUT IT.
STAND UP TO VIOLENCE. VIOLENCE IS NEVER THE ANSWER.
